Summer Concert Series at Maytag Bowl

The summer schedule of music in Newton continues to grow as the Summer Concert Series at Maytag Bowl returns to Thursday nights beginning June 1.

Featuring five different musical acts performing over two months and the Bill Riley Talent Show as part of Newton Fest, the series is free to the public and the concerts begin at 7:00 p.m. (unless otherwise noted). Attendees are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets as well as their own food and beverage as they enjoy the music.

“The Summer Concert Series at Maytag Bowl is one of those can’t miss summer events and is something you have to add to your summer calendar,” said Danielle Rogers, Community Marketing Manager. “This year’s lineup features the Newton Municipal Band, which has a long tradition of playing at Maytag Bowl. Also returning to the stage are crowd favorites including Dueling Pianos, Faculty Lounge and Slipstream. We’re also excited to have The NewTrons, featuring members of JJ Express and the Nemo Orchestra, performing.”

Maytag Bowl is located at Maytag Park, 301 S 11th Ave W. For more information on the concert series, please call the Newton Park Office at 641-792-1470. You can also find information on the Newton Parks and Recreation Facebook page (
