    During the next three weeks (beginning 5/22/12) the Newton Fire Department will be testing fire hydrants in the western part of Newton. Testing will be done from W 4th St and west including Lambs Grove, Country Acres, Bitter Sweet and other areas where there are city fire hydrants.

  2. Juggling for Jesus

    June 7, 6:30 PM - 7:30 PM @ Newton Public Library

    At 6:30 p.m. Thursday evening, June 7, a book signing talk and juggling demonstration will be held in the library meeting room. Author Terry Dodd, a 1957 graduate of NHS, will present a talk related to his most recent book, Journey with Outstretched Hands. The book is a chronicle of the author's two-year Christian ministry to assisted living facilities in northern Georgia. This is his eighth self-published book, and he is the recent recipient of the Eric Hoffer Legacy Fiction Award.

  1. Evenings at the Bowl-Newton Community Band

    June 7, 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM @ Maytag Park

    Join the Newton Parks and Recreation Department for a summer of fun at the Maytag Bowl. All concerts will be held on Thursday nights and will begin at 7:00 p.m. Concert goers are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and snacks to enjoy while listening to the various acts.
