Come design and hand-build a beautiful ceramic bird for your garden or your house decor. There will be a later date set for you to come-back and glazer item/s. Everyone will receive 1.5 lbs of clay to work with. Ages 8 and up.

The Jasper County Conservation will host a series of classes to help you learn how to create your own prairie garden at the Neal Smith Wildlife Refuge's Prairie Learning Center.
Early planning can make prairie garden creation a snap! Learn the steps of designing a successful garden. These programs are for aspiring gardeners of all ages and experience. Individuals and groups are welcome! Please wear comfortable clothing for indoors and outdoors! You do not need to participate in all of them. Simply attend when you can!

This event, now in its sixth year, has raised more than $240,000 to support important projects at Skiff Medical Center. The evening features a popular dessert auction, as well as live and silent auctions and a sit-down catered dinner and concludes with professional entertainment, the comedy-mystery “For Love or Money,” performed by Entertainment to Go. All proceeds from the event will support equipment upgrades at Skiff Medical Center. Written and presented by members of the Colfax Historical Society, Curses, Foiled Again!, or Colfax Mineral Water: the Unofficial Story is a play about a small town on the verge of greatness. Go back in time to the late 1800s, when Jasper County was just fully settled and ready for a new century. Watch the coal dust fly when locals discover mineral water and its seemingly magical powers of healing. Laugh along with a lovable cast of characters including a miserly old grandfather, his starry-eyed grandaughter, a slick-haired swindler, and many others.
