2022 Projects (Completed)
Projects that occurred during the 2022 calendar year are listed below.
2022 Downtown Streetscape Improvements Project
- Four city blocks in the downtown were reconstructed with new PCC curbs & gutters, and the mainline pavement was milled and overlayed. Other improvements included storm sewer construction, new sidewalks, and green space improvements.
- Total project cost of $835,213.72; paid by Road Use Tax funds.
2022 PCC Patching Project
- 158 square yards of PCC pavement in the 1200 block of N 3rd Ave E was removed and replaced. In conjunction with this work, additional storm sewer improvements were completed by the City.
- Total project cost of $22,910.00; paid by Road Use Tax funds.
2023 Projects (Current)
Projects occurring during the 2023 calendar year are listed below.
Union Drive Reconstruction
- A comprehensive reconstruction of W 8th St N, Union Dr., & W 4th St N from N 4th Ave W to N 19th Ave W is underway. The objective is to replace the current 23-foot wide composite pavement rural section street with a more efficient and durable 27-foot wide PCC urban section street that will include curb, gutter, and storm sewer. An additional upgrade will involve the installation of a new water main and sanitary manhole.
- Awarded contract amount of $4,209,934.58; funded from multiple sources, including federal funds, Road Use Tax funds, Utilities Department funds, and reallocated bond funds from the Fairmeadows North TIF.
- Final completion is expected in the Spring 2024.
2023 PCC Patching Project
- 333 square yards of PCC pavement in the 1500 Block of N 6th Ave E to be removed and replaced.
- Awarded contract amount of $49,695.00; funded by Road Use Tax funds.
- Completion date is November 15th, 2023.
2024 Projects (Future)
The projects below are projects that should occur during the 2024 calendar year.
W 4th St S Reconstruction
- The project's goal is to overhaul the 200-400 blocks of W 4th St S with a comprehensive reconstruction plan. The plan involves replacing the current 25-foot-wide composite pavement street with a 31-foot-wide PCC pavement street, as well as installing new storm sewers and improving the existing sidewalks and water mains. These upgrades will transform the area and improve its functionality for all residents.
- Project is scheduled to be put out to bid in the late 2023 for construction in the Spring/Summer 2024.
- Estimated project costs of $900,000 to be paid for with $550,000 of ARPA funds and $350,000 of Stormwater Utility funds. Water main improvements will be paid from Utilities Department funds.
W 6th St S Reconstruction
- New PCC curb and gutter will be added to the 900-1000 blocks of W 6th St S. The mainline pavement will receive an HMA mill & overlay in the 800-1000 blocks.
- Project is scheduled to be put out to bid in the winter of 2023 for construction in the Spring/Summer 2024.
- Estimated project costs of $520,000 to be paid for with General Fund bonds.
FY23/24 Downtown Streetscape Improvements
- This project will reconstruct four city blocks in the downtown (200-300 blocks of N 2nd Ave E, the 100 block of E 2nd St N, and the 100 block of E 3rd St N) with new PCC curbs & gutters. The mainline pavement will be milled and overlayed. Other improvements include storm sewer construction, new sidewalks, and green space improvements. In addition to this work, the 100 block of N 2nd Ave E will receive an HMA mill & overlay.
- Project is scheduled to be put out to bid in the late 2023 for construction in Spring/Summer 2024.
- Estimate project costs of $1,100,000 to be paid from TIF Bonds.
FY24/25 Downtown Streetscape Improvements
- This project will reconstruct four city blocks in the downtown (300-400 blocks of N 2nd Ave W, the 100 block of W 3rd St N, and the 100 block of W 4th St N) with new PCC curbs & gutters. The mainline pavement will be milled and overlayed. Other improvements include storm sewer construction, new sidewalks, and green space improvements.
- Project is scheduled to be put out to bid in the Spring 2024 for construction in Summer/Fall 2024.
- Estimated project costs of $905,000 to be paid from TIF bonds.
W 8th St N Bridge Approach Replacement
- Removal and replacement of the bridge approach pavement on the north and south sides of the W 8th St N bridge.
- Project is scheduled to be put out to bid in the Spring 2024 for construction in 2025.
- Estimated project costs of $165,000 to be paid from General Fund Bonds.
