Craig's educational journey includes graduating from Newton Senior High in 1982. He furthered his studies by earning a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management from Central College in Pella, Iowa. His educational background equips him with valuable insights into managing business-related matters.
For 17 years, Craig contributed his skills and expertise to the Maytag Company, demonstrating his commitment to local industry and economic growth. Currently, he works as a Labor Market Research Economist for the State of Iowa, where he continues to contribute his knowledge and insights to support informed decision-making.
Beyond his professional responsibilities, Craig actively engages in community involvement. He has dedicated over twelve years to the Newton Little League, playing a vital role in the organization. Craig served as the league's president for three years, demonstrating his commitment to fostering youth sports and providing opportunities for young athletes in the community. He is also involved with the Youth Sports Foundation (YSF), where he coaches a team in the tackle football league for 5th and 6th graders. Craig's dedication to coaching and youth development is recognized through his National Youth Sports Coaches Association membership.
Craig's personal life revolves around his family. He is married to Suzy (O'Connor) Trotter, and they have two boys, Sid and Clay. Their strong family bonds drive Craig's dedication to creating a thriving community for all residents of Newton.
