Animal Review Committee
The Animal Review Committee was established as part of the City of Newton's Vicious & Problematic Dog Ordinance.
Building Trades Board
A five-member board appointed by the Mayor and Council that makes recommendations on construction regulations, licensing, and permitting, and hears any appeals of code rulings made by staff.
Civil Service Commission
The purpose of the commission shall be to provide a harmonious, efficient, and courteous public service which will protect the interests of the City of Newton and its employees.
Downtown Grant Review Board
The Downtown Grant Review Board reviews façade improvement grant program applications and makes a recommendation to City Council.

The Board of Trustees has direct control of library operations, employs a library director, makes final approval of the purchase of library materials, and has exclusive control of all library funds.
