What is the Census? The census counts every person living in the 50 states, District of Columbia, and five U.S. territories. It happens every ten years. Beginning in March 2020, every household in America will receive a postcard with instructions for taking the census online or by phone in several different languages. In May, census takers will visit households that haven’t had a chance to respond yet.
If you don’t have a home computer or internet, you can use a library computer to complete your census response. The library will also have a designated computer for census respondents on Census Day, April 1st, 2020.
