What is the Census? The census counts every personCensus-bureau living in the 50 states, District of Columbia, and five U.S. territories. It happens every ten years. Beginning in March 2020, every household in America will receive a postcard with instructions for taking the census online or by phone in several different languages. In May, census takers will visit households that haven’t had a chance to respond yet.

How to Respond

You have three ways to respond:

  • By Mail

  • Online

You can also visit the U.S. Census Bureau Website for more information on how to respond.

What if I don’t have a home computer?

If you don’t have a home computer or internet, you can use a library computer to complete your census response. The library will also have a designated computer for census respondents on Census Day, April 1st, 2020.
