The IHSAA Class 1A Boys State Golf Tournament was held at Westwood on May 23 and 24. 56 student-athletes qualified to play, with Harris-Lake Park High School winning the tournament with a score of 322 counting their best 4 of 6 scores. Unfortunately, heavy rain canceled Friday’s rounds, so it ended up only being an 18-hole tournament. Over 200 family and friends were here to watch the high school boys play the tournament, with many of them using the local hotels and restaurants.
Westwood Men’s League started the 1st week of June. Leagues play 9 holes on Monday and Thursdays for 10 weeks. 44 golfers play in each league night. 9 holes will always be open during play for non-league players.
On Memorial Day, Westwood Golf Course hosted the 10th annual Wounded and Disabled Veterans-Hank Brittan Memorial Golf Outing. The Knights of Templar held a flag raising ceremony, and 30 Veterans attended the ceremony and golf event.
