Ladder 1 has been delivered to Fire Services, Inc. of St. John, Indiana for repairs to the ladder. During a recent safety inspection, the ladder was found to have structural deficiencies that needed to be repaired. This is a very specialized type of business and the closest company to complete the work was located in St. John, Indiana. The ladder will be there for approximately 3 weeks for the repair. While the ladder is out of commission, the City of Grinnell has allowed the City of Newton to borrow a reserve ladder truck. This is a great example of how building relationships with other communities pays back in times of need.
