The contractor intends to begin work on the E 3rd St & 1st Ave intersection. Motorists and pedestrians are advised to use caution in the area during the project and are asked to follow posted traffic control devices and signs.
At this time, synchronization between the traffic signals at the intersections will continue to be interrupted but a final synchronization will be completed at the end of the project between all of the signals.
The Downtown Traffic Signal Improvement Project started on Wednesday, August 14. During the project, traffic signal and sidewalk improvements will be made along 1st Avenue between W 4th Street and E 4th Street. Throughout various stages of the project, sidewalks in the downtown may be closed; the contractor will be responsible for signing alternative routes. There is also the possibility of temporary lane closures, lane reductions, traffic signal disruption, and delays; which the contractor will be responsible for.
