Newton Community School District first graders visited the Library during October! First graders visit the Library to learn about all the books, programs, and fun that is available for free.
The visits kicked off with a story-time explaining proper care of library books with Phylliss Peter, our Youth Services Librarian. The students then received a tour of the Children’s Library. Their day ended with a behind-the-scenes look at the Circulation office.
The Friends of the Library funds the books provided to the students and busing of the students. First graders leave knowing how to get a Library card and who to ask for books.
