On February 3rd, the Newton Complete Count Committee met for the first time to learn about the upcoming Census and how each member can have an impact within our community. Tracy Stevens, US Census Partnership Specialist, addressed the group and described the timeline, outreach and engagement efforts, and answered questions. The group intends to explore the best options for informing Newton residents about the Census and encouraging self-response. Bonnie Pitts, League of Women Voters of Iowa, offered to promote the Census and distribute slices of pie at a local event.
