[ARCHIVED] Participating in City Council Meetings in Conformance with Social Distancing Requirements

Virtual City Council

In order to minimize the spread of the COVID-19 virus, the City of Newton is providing alternatives to viewing Council meetings and providing comments on items on the agenda. These alternatives allow the City to adhere to social distancing requirements, follow the Governor’s Executive Order, and provide a way for the public to comment live during the meeting.

VIEWING MEETINGS ONLINE
You are able to view meetings online on the City of Newton website (www.newtongov.org) by following the link under I want to “view” Livestream of City council Meetings.  

Television – Meetings are broadcast live on Mediacom channels 12, 85 or 121.12.

Live stream – Meetings are streamed live on the City’s website (www.newtongov.org)

At the time of the City Council meeting, visit the City’s website and click “I Want To > View > Livestream of City Council Meetings or visit (http://bit.ly/2N0hI50). You can also follow along with the Zoom meeting through Civic Media at: www.newtongov.org/civicmedia

SUBMITTING COMMENTS BY E-MAIL
If you choose not to attend the City Council meeting online but wish to make a comment on a specific agenda item, please submit your comment via email to cityofnewton@newtongov.org by 5:00 p.m. the day of the meeting.

SUBMITTING COMMENTS BY PHONE
During the meeting, you can call 641-792-2787, extension 2007 to provide comment that will be presented to the Council.
