The Newton Fest committee has announced the celebration set for June 11-13 will be canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
"Out of an abundance of caution and to keep our community safe, the committee is canceling Newton Fest for this summer. Like many other regional festivals that have been canceled we are upset to have to do so but believe this is in everyone’s best interest," the committee released in a statement.
Newton Fest committee members and partnering organizations have already committed to bringing back event favorites including the pool party, kids art, inflatables, BBQ contest, car show, vendor fair, live entertainment and more for 2021.
The statement continued, "We know people will be disappointed but hope they understand and will continue to support the event in the future. We encourage everyone to follow public health guidelines to stay safe and healthy so we can come together again in celebration next summer."
