Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (D-SNAP) is available for Jasper County residents who were impacted by the derecho and subsequent power outages on August 10, 2020.
Eligible families will receive D-SNAP in an amount equal to one month of the maximum amount of Food Assistance/SNAP benefits, based on household size. Applicants must apply in person at the site listed below.
- Those who meet the income limits
- Those who have been adversely affected by the derecho including destroyed/spoiled food
CURRENT FOOD ASSISTANCE RECIPIENTS
Current Food Assistance recipients in Jasper County are not eligible to receive D-SNAP benefits as they will already receive the maximum allotment of Food Assistance benefits for their household size in August and September.
Some eligible food items include dairy products, eggs, meat, cereal, rice, pasta, bread, fresh, frozen canned or dried vegetables and fruit, any ingredients you use for cooking, baby formula, diabetic foods, garden seeds, plants for growing food at home, and ice.
