Newton Police Officer Gabe Wilson graduated from the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy on April 18, 2014. After 14 weeks of academy training, Officer Wilson became a certified officer in the state of Iowa and is now back working at the Newton PD in a 12 week Field Training program. While at the academy, Officer Wilson achieved honors of becoming part of the 300 club. Only several officers out of each class usually are able to achieve this status. Only officers that are the most physically fit are able to make the 300 club. Officers try to attain 300 points while doing sit-ups, pull-ups and running a mile and a half in under 9 minutes. Officer Wilson is sworn in by Mayor Mike Hansen. Congratulations Gabe.
