October 13, 2014 will commence the first-ever “Newton VS Newton” challenge. Newton, IA will be competing with Newton, KS in a series of challenges which encourage citizens to show community pride and show off their respective communities.
“I know Newton, Iowa, and more importantly—I know Newton, Iowa citizens,” said Newton, IA Mayor Mike Hansen, “Let’s use this challenge to show Newton, Kansas what it means to be proud to know Newton!”
The contest will take place over the course of two weeks, from October 13 at 8:00 a.m. to October 24 at noon. The list of challenges will be released October 13 at 8:00 a.m.
