On December 4, 2014 the City of Newton accepted two awards at the Newton Greater Area Chamber of Commerce Business Awards. The awards won by the City were for Social Media and for Marketing.
In February 2014, the City of Newton, along with several partner organizations, launched the Get to Know Newton campaign. This campaign has worked to build a positive reputation for the Newton community through local and regional marketing, social media, and community events.
