During the week of October 16th the police department hosted a basic SWAT school instructed by the National Tactical Officers Association. The 40 hour school introduced participants to various tactics and techniques including a historical overview of SWAT, team organization and structure, resolution of barricaded suspect situations, covert individual and team movement, searches and room clearing, chemical agents, less-lethal options, warrant service and included multiple field training exercises. The class was comprised of 21 attendees from police departments throughout the state.
