[ARCHIVED] Esrey & Willis Take Newton Fire Department Oath of Service & Receive Badges

Esrey & Willis Badge Pinning Ceremony

The Newton Fire Department held a Badge Pinning Ceremony for Firefighter/EMT-P Kyle Esrey and Firefighter/EMT-P Treaver Willis on Friday, January 19.

During the ceremony, addresses were given by retired Fire Marshal Tom Rodewalk and Firefighter/EMT-P Lee Clanton. Mayor Michael L. Hansen administered the oath of service and Fire Chief Jarrod Wellik presented each firefighter with their individual badge, which was pinned to their uniform by family members. Members of the Newton Fire Department also placed new plates on Esrey and Willis’ helmets.

The Newton Fire Department is a full service fire department which provides fire, emergency medical services, hazardous materials and technical rescue response capabilities. The department serves the City of Newton and serves as backup for surrounding communities in Jasper County. The Newton Fire Department consists of 23 career firefighter/EMT's, 8 part-time staff, 9- volunteer/paid-on-call staff and 2 civilian staff.
