[ARCHIVED] Water Pollution Control Update

Water Pollution Control

Water Pollution Control staff is responsible for maintaining the 80 miles of sanitary sewer mains throughout the city and their 7 lift stations. Once the sewage is inside the WPC plant there are miles of piping carrying the sewage through varying stages of the treatment process, before being released into Cardinal Creek. The environment of a WPC plant is very corrosive and there are hundreds of mechanical and electrical components to maintain within a WPC plant. There is constant maintenance that needs done to prevent failures of the equipment from corrosion alone, in addition to wear items and equipment that just breaks from years of use.
