The Summer Reading program was a great success again this year at the Newton Public Library, with 538 kids participating and 234 adults participating. All kids who finished the program received a ticket to the pool party at Maytag Pool with free pizza included! Kids also received a child’s pass to the Blank Park Zoo and a ticket to the Iowa Cubs Home Run Reader game. The adult summer reading program included 23 adult programs from June through August with over 400 participants. As adults finished their Bingo cards, they received a ticket to Capitol II and an entrance into the Kindle Fire Raffle.
