Phyllis Peters, Youth Services Librarian, applied for and received a Jasper Community Foundation grant to purchase teen furniture for our new teen area in the Library. The Foundation granted the Library $5,000 to purchase a new booth and two new chairs with laptop arms. The booth has been purchased and will match our current booth in the teen area, the two chairs are pending color approval by the Library Board. The Library is hoping that creating a physical space for teens, including furniture suited to their needs, will encourage teens to stay in the Library longer instead of quickly popping in and out to only grab books.
