Parks staff recently mowed new trails throughout 30 Acre Parks, to be utilized by both walkers and mountain bikes.
Parks staff has also been busy with flood cleanup, and is preparing for what the upcoming weeks will bring. Numerous tree limbs came down throughout the City Parks. Westwood Golf Course took the brunt of the damage. Holes 11-17 were completely covered in water for a period of time. This left behind silt that has to dry before any of the normal maintenance can be done. Bunkers throughout the entire facility will take significant maintenance to get them back into playing condition. Westwood has had to restrict golf carts for play, resulting in a loss of revenue.
