The Police Department conducted ALICE training for the Newton Community School Districts new teachers and staff on August 16th. ALICE (Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, Evacuate) Training classes provide preparation and a plan for individuals and organizations on how to more pro-actively handle the threat of an aggressive intruder or active shooter event. All existing teachers and staff have received the training and updates are provided annually.
