The Newton Police Department, in partnership with United Way of Jasper County, hosted the 13th Annual Shop with a Cop on December 1. Several children from the community paired off with police officers for the day. The children and police officers went shopping, visited with Santa, and took part in some holiday fun. The event was possible thanks to Wal-Mart, Pizza Ranch, Dairy Queen, and many other private and business donors.
