Newton Main Street continues with their investment campaign and reports that funding is on target for the upcoming year. In addition, Newton Main Street has received a $1,500 grant from Wal-Mart.
In December, Erin Chambers, along with Mickey Shields (Iowa League of Cities), assisted in the Main Street Iowa’s internal retreat training. The focus of the training was on the intersection of the Main Street program and local government, on which Shields and Chambers provided perspective and advice.
