Officer Nathan Popenhagen was sworn in by Mayor Hansen as the Newton Police Department’s newest officer on May 6. Officer Popenhagen has previous public safety experience with the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office as a Reserve Deputy and as the Assistant Fire Chief of the Baxter Fire Dept.
