On May 7 staff from the Newton Police Department attended the LOSE YOUR MIND workshop at the Jasper County EOC. The LOSE YOUR MIND program aims to reduce the stigma of mental illness by increasing understanding and empathy using fully immersive VR technology. Attendance at this training is a continuation of the Police Department’s continued focus on improving their response to citizens experiencing a mental health crisis within the community.
