  13. Book Character Pumpkin Decorating Contest

    Get those pumpkins ready, our popular Book Character pumpkin contest is back again this year! Entries will be accepted from October 17-20 and voting will be October 21-29. Winners will be announced on October 31st. Decorate a pumpkin or gourd as your favorite book character. Pumpkins may be painted, dressed, accessorized but not carved. Please note that pumpkins that have holes in them tend to go bad really fast, so painting and accessorizing works best for this contest. Categories are: Youth/Family/Classroom (pumpkin is decorated as a group, extensive adult help is welcome in this category). Independent child (pumpkin decorated with only adult supervision, not help) Categories in independent child are: ages 4-7, 8-12 and 13-18. Winners in each category will receive a gift basket with Halloween goodies. All children that enter will receive a book to keep.
