The Proud to Know Newton radio show, hosted by Craig Armstrong and produced by KCOB, is aired every Thursday at 6 p.m. on KCOB 95.9 FM & AM 1280. The 30 minute show features an interview with a special guest about their organization, work or event. Guests range from City employees, non-profits, event organizers and business owners. Details for each show are posted online each week and the show is available to stream on KCOB's website.

As part of Severe Weather Awareness Week, which is March 22 - March 26, a statewide tornado drill will occur Wednesday, March 24. A test drill will be issued at 11 a.m. through the National Weather Service. During this test, people are encouraged to practice any actions that would be taken in the event of a real tornado.

Mystery bags have a different theme every month and contain a surprise selection of 4-5 books and movies, an adult craft, and other treats. Return the books and movies when you're done with them - keep the other goodies!
March's theme is "Magical Worlds". The March bag will contain a literary fantasy novel and a selection of stories about magic, fairy tales, and folklore. The craft is a miniature "Alice in Wonderland" Altoid tin diorama. Registration opens February 15th. Call the library at 641-792-4108 to register.

Pick up a free craft kit and make a chalk paint mug at home! This kit comes with a mug, chalk paint, and chalk. Crafters will need to supply their own paintbrush and have access to an oven. Supplies are limited and registration is recommended to reserve a kit. Registration opens March 1st. Please call the library at 641-792-4108 to register. Limit 1 kit per household.
