    Event for parents of preschoolers sponsored by the Jasper County Health Department and the Newton Public Library. This is a chance for parents to connect and learn about resources in our community while your children enjoy storytime. Children attending will receive the book, "The Rainbow Fish" by Marcus Pfister. The storytime is for ages 3 to 5, younger children are welcome to stay with their parent in the library meeting room. No registration required.   6. Centre for Arts and Artists Mother's Day Scarf

    Come and die your very own scarf. We will be using tissue paper to create a one of a kind scarf you can gift to a loved one or keep for yourself. We will be using lightweight china silk habotai and the silk scarves will be 8" x 54". Cost is $15 each for each scarf, 2 people can work on one scarf and just pay $15. This is a great parent/grandparent and child activity. All ages welcome! Children under the age of 8 will need to be accompanied by an adult.

    Come and join the Newton YMCA for one of our most fun events, Healthy Kids Day! This event is FREE and open to the community and surrounding areas as a great way to get out and see what your community has to offer for our youths. There will be fun for all ages! Ninja obstacle courses, story times for little ones, dodge ball for older kids, and much more! Jasper County Health Department will be there with the Newton Police Department doing free car seat safety checks and will be giving away free car seats! We will provide a free afternoon snack bag for the kids as well, provided by Wal-Mart!

Storytime begins at 10:30 am, then stay for play and social time after the program!
