Storytime for newborns to 18 months with their caregiver. The storytime will run about 15 minutes and include an open playtime at the end.

Enjoy a cup of coffee, tea, or bring your own beverage, while working on your current stitching project. Stitchers of all experience levels are welcome! This is an open forum for crafters to share their projects, ask other stitchers for assistance or troubleshooting, and enjoy crafting company. This event will be held in the library meeting room. No registration required.
Work on your resume, edit your cover letter, or complete an online application during our job-seeker support hours. Our Public Services Librarian will provide dedicated support for job-seekers on most Wednesday afternoons. The Newton Public Library is offering five special storytimes for children ages 3-5. The storytimes are STEM (science, technology, engineering, & math) themed, with materials received from the Iowa Governor's STEM Scale-Up program. Please register for each session by calling the library at 641-792-4108, or stop by the library to sign up. You may attend one or all of the sessions.
Now is the perfect time to start scanning those old family photos! Drop-in on the second Monday morning of the month to learn about our Memory Lab Digitization Equipment and have our Public Services Librarian scan your photos. Attendees may bring up to 15 photos per visit and a flash drive to store their scans on.

Join musician, Matt Woods for a live blues music concert at the library! This event is free to attend and will be held inside the library meeting room. Music lovers of all ages are welcome to attend. This program is sponsored by the Arts Connection, South Skunk Blues Society, and the Newton Public Library Foundation.
Join our NEW afternoon book club for adults! Everyone chooses their own book to read based on a monthly theme. Come and talk about your book! It's like a potluck of books... You may learn of a new title you want to read next! The February theme is "Romance".
Join us for teen board game club at the library! Learn to play games like Catan, Ticket to Ride, Carcassonne, and Forbidden Island. New games will be introduced at each meeting. New and expert players welcome. No registration required.
Display your artistic talents and support the library at our Tiny Art Show & Fundraiser Silent Auction!
Pick up a 4"x4" canvas at the library with a $1.00 deposit, and create a mini masterpiece at home. Return your completed canvas no later than February 15th to have your deposit returned and be included in our Tiny Art Show & Fundraiser Silent Auction.
Art will be on display inside the library February 20 - 27. All submitted art will be included in our Fundraiser Silent Auction on February 27th, with proceeds going towards funding a new library roof.
Submissions should be family-friendly. All ages and abilities are welcome to participate!

Enjoy snacks and baked goodies, courtesy of the Friends of the Library, while bidding on your favorite miniature masterpieces at our fundraiser silent auction. Cash & check accepted. Proceeds from the auction go towards replacing the library roof!
