Christian Musicians and Songwriters International (CSMI) will host the Newton Annual Praise in the Park on August 15th, 2020 at the South Shelter in Woodland Park, Newton, Ia. from noon to 6pm.
The annual event will host several favorite local artists from last year, including Sounds of Praise Quartet, Julie Gwen Zurcher, The Sanders, and Storm Seymour. Coming from Wisconsin is Gene Schmidt, Christian singer/composer and founder of CSMI. At 5 pm, there will be a sing-along session with members from multiple groups participating.
The public is invited to bring lawn chairs and attend the free outdoor event where there is plenty of room under the trees to practice COVID health guidelines. Feel free to bring a picnic and/or purchase snacks and drinks at the event.
August 15, 2020, 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM @ Newton Public Library
The library's weekend cooling center hours have been extended and our public WI-FI is back! Our weekend hours are as follows:
Friday & Saturday: 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Sunday: 12:00 Noon - 5:00 p.m.
We do not have public computer access back yet, but you can use the WI-Fi on your device, charge phones and other electronics, and cool down inside the building. (There could be some disruption to the WI-FI as service crews are still working in the area.) Our systems are still down, so we are unable to check out library materials at this time.
Our outdoor charging stations will remain available for anyone who wishes to visit after hours. You may also access the WI-FI from the outdoor charging stations, and the password will be posted on the front doors.
We ask that you avoid fallen trees and storm debris on the grounds and avoid parking near debris piles. Social distancing measures will be in effect inside the building and all building visitors are required to wear masks
