    This event is open to all professionals in Jasper County between 20 - 35 years of age who are interested in being a part of a dynamic and important civic group. Learn about the YP's and meet some new friends. Families are welcome to attend! The first drink is on the Chamber of Commerce - this includes non-alcoholic drinks too! There will be a food truck on site starting at 4 pm.

    Wondering what to read next? Check out our monthly mystery bags for adults! Mystery bags have a different theme every month and contain a surprise selection of 4-5 books and movies, and an adult craft. Return the books and movies when you're done with them - keep the craft! October's theme is "Thrills & Chills". The October bag will include a selection of thrillers, mysteries, and slightly spooky (not scary!) books just in time for Halloween. The craft is a decorative lace doily spiderweb. Registration opens September 20th. Please call the library at 641-792-4108 to register.

  3. Book Character Pumpkin Decorating Contest

    Our annual pumpkin decorating contest for children is back! Decorate a pumpkin or gourd as your favorite book character. Pumpkins may be painted, dressed, or accessorized, but not carved. Pumpkins will be accepted for Youth/Family/Classroom and Independent Child categories. Independent child categories will be divided into age groups (4-7, 8-12, & 13-18) with a winner from each age group. The public will vote for winners in all categories October 22 - 28, with winners announced on October 29th! Winners in each category will receive a Halloween treat basket.
