National Volunteer Week is an annual celebration observed in many countries, to promote and show appreciation for volunteerism and volunteering.

The Proud to Know Newton radio show, hosted by Craig Armstrong and produced by KCOB, is aired every Thursday at 6 p.m. on KCOB 95.9 FM & AM 1280. The 30 minute show features an interview with a special guest about their organization, work or event. Guests range from City employees, non-profits, event organizers and business owners. Details for each show are posted online each week and the show is available to stream on KCOB's website.

Join our spring virtual scavenger hunt for all ages! Make a hanging May Day basket at home with this free kit! We'll show you how to make and decorate a cone-style, hanging May Day basket; you fill it with candy, flowers, or other treats of your choice. Crafters will need to supply their own scissors and glue, all other materials for making the baskets will be provided. Supplies are limited and registration is recommended to reserve a craft kit. Registration opens April 12th. Please call the library at 641-792-4108 to register.

In-person storytime for children ages 3 to 5. Storytime will last for 20 minutes with a simple craft following. Siblings are welcome to attend. Masks are required for all attendees ages 2 and up. Questions? Please contact Phyllis Peter at 641-792-4108.
