  1. 2nd Annual Newton Cares Classic

    July 15, 2021, All Day @ Westwood Golf Course

    The 2nd annual Newton Cares Classic, which was postponed due to the pandemic, will return bigger and better for summer 2021. Newton Cares Classic is a celebrity golf tournament aimed at raising awareness and funds for non-profit organizations in Jasper County and Central Iowa. NCC is unlike others golf tournaments. With NCC you are treated like a star and you get to golf with stars too!

  2. Proud to Know Newton Radio Show

    The Proud to Know Newton radio show, hosted by Craig Armstrong and produced by KCOB, is aired every Thursday at 6 p.m. on KCOB 95.9 FM & AM 1280. The 30 minute show features an interview with a special guest about their organization, work or event. Guests range from City employees, non-profits, event organizers and business owners. Details for each show are posted online each week and the show is available to stream on KCOB's website.

    Wondering what to read next? Check out our new monthly mystery bags for adults! Mystery bags have a different theme every month and contain a surprise selection of 4-5 books and movies, an adult craft, and other treats. Return the books and movies when you're done with them - keep the other goodies! July's theme is "American As Apple Pie!". The July bag will include a selection of books about American history, travel, food, and works by prominent American authors. Registration opens June 21.     Join us for Teen Board Game Club at the library! Learn how to play games like Catan, Ticket to Ride, Carcassonne, Zooloretto, and Forbidden Island. The information will also be released to local radio stations.
