We’re excited to announce a free bus tour of Newton to learn what resources the community has for you! Have you just moved to the area and are new to Newton? Or have you been here a few years and are unsure of your way around town yet? Or maybe you’ve established some roots but need a refresh! This 60-minute charter bus tour is the perfect way to get to know our community!

Wondering what to read next? Check out our FREE monthly mystery bags for adults! Mystery bags have a different theme every month and contain a surprise selection of 4-5 books and an adult craft. Return the books when you're done with them - keep the craft! The November theme is "Tearjerkers" and includes a selection of sweet, sad, and sentimental novels, sure to tug at your heart-strings. The craft is a forest shadowbox. Registration opens October 24th. Ages 18+ Please direct message the library on Facebook or call 641-792-4108 to register.

Pick up some great books while supporting your library! The Friends of the Library will be hosting a used book sale in the library meeting room November 8-10. Cash and personal check will be accepted. A $10 donation gets you early access to the sale on November 8th, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. There is no entry fee on November 9 & 10. Proceeds from the sale go towards supporting the construction of a new roof for the library.

Children ages 3-5 and their caregivers are invited to join us for Preschool Storytime on Thursday mornings. Storytime includes books, music, and a simple craft. Siblings are welcome to attend. No registration required.
