    Each year, the Iowa Department of Inspections and Appeals recognizes health care facilities that demonstrate the highest quality of care and commitment to residents. This year, Newton Village has received the honor. The 2022 Governor’s Award for Quality Care in Health Care Facilities will be presented to Newton Village Tuesday, August 30 from 1:30 to 3:30 pm, with the formal presentation at 2 pm. The public is invited to join the celebration in the Newton Village Courtyard, at 110 N 5th Ave West in Newton.

The Market is authorized to participate in the WIC Farmers Market Nutrition Program (FMNP) and Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP). The Newton Farmers' Market history began in the 1980's, started by local attorney and Chamber of Commerce member Herbert S. Selby.
