Want to join a book club but just don't have time for a regular meeting? Would you like to read a monthly recommendation from the comfort and quiet of home? This is the book club for you! Each month there's a new book selection, but there's never a meeting. Pick up your copy of the monthly book at the library Information Desk. Books are available at the beginning of the month and due at the end of the month. The selected books are: July 2022: The Night Tiger August 2022: The Sun Does Shine September 2022: The Bookshop on the Corner October 2022: Practical Magic November 2022: The Thirteenth Tale December 2022: Mr. Dickens and His Carol
Wondering what to read next? Check out our FREE monthly mystery bags for adults! Mystery bags have a different theme every month and contain a surprise selection of 4-5 books and an adult craft. Return the books when you're done with them - keep the craft! The September theme is "Book Club Favorites" and includes a selection of the most requested book club picks, locally and nationally. The craft is a pumpkin patch terrarium. Registration opens August 22nd. Ages 18+ Please direct message the library on Facebook or call 641-792-4108 to register.
Children ages 3-5 and their caregivers are invited to join us for Preschool Storytime on Thursday mornings. Storytime includes books, music, and a simple craft. Siblings are welcome to attend. No registration required. There will be no storytime on November 11th or 25th, due to Veteran's Day and Thanksgiving.
Join local artist, Kirsten Warrick, for an acrylic paint-along class for adults! Attendees are encouraged to bring an apron, all other materials will be provided.
