Wondering what to read next? Check out our FREE monthly mystery bags for adults! Mystery bags have a different theme every month and contain a surprise selection of 4-5 books and an adult craft. Return the books when you're done with them - keep the craft! The May theme is "Animal Tales" and includes a selection of our favorite fiction and non-fiction books about animals. The craft is a Beatrix Potter tin diorama. Registration opens April 24. Ages 18+ Please direct message the library on Facebook or call 641-792-4108 to register.
Now is the perfect time to start scanning those old family photos! Drop-in on the second Monday morning of the month to learn about our Memory Lab Digitization Equipment and have our Public Services Librarian scan your photos. Storytime for newborns to 18 months with their caregiver. The storytime will run about 15 minutes and include an open playtime at the end.
Join musician, Rob Lumbard for a live blues music concert at the library! This event is free to attend and will be held inside the library meeting room. Music lovers of all ages are welcome to attend. This program is sponsored by the Arts Connection, South Skunk Blues Society, and the Newton Public Library Foundation.
